LABSA is a laboratory reagent used to measure the concentration of sulfate ions in water. It is a colorless solution that is added to water and changes color depending on the amount of sulfate ions present. LABSA can be used to monitor drinking water quality, determine the suitability of wastewater for discharge into bodies of water, and track environmental impacts from sulfate-containing pollutants.
LABSA 96%:
LABSA 96% is a new type of plasticizer that has been developed by the DuPont de Nemours & Co. It is an oil-based liquid, which can be applied to polymers and other materials in solid form.
LABSA 90%:
LABSA 90% is a patented process developed by Lonza that enables the recovery of higher amounts of protein from spent lysate. The process involves concentrating proteins in the sample using an electro-dialysis method, followed by ultrafiltration to remove endotoxins and other contaminants.
Application Insights:
Detergent was the largest application segment in 2017 and is projected to witness significant growth over the forecast period. Detergents are used for cleaning various surfaces such as fabrics, dishes, glass, silverware and other household items. The rising population across developing countries is expected to boost product demand in detergent applications.
LABSA couplings with functional groups such as hydroxyl or carboxyl groups have found wide application scope including adhesives and sealants on account of their properties that enhance adhesive bonding strength by orders of magnitude while reducing shrinkage when applied on dry surfaces like paper tapes & films lamination etc. LABSA also finds its usage as a food additive which has been granted Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) approval by U.S Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
