The discotic liquid crystal polymer (LLCP) is a new class of material that belongs to the family of topological phases. LLCPs are expected to be useful for applications in optoelectronics, spintronics and electronics owing to their unconventional electronic properties such as lyotropic liquid crystals, antiferromagnetic coupling and topological superconductivity.
