It occurs naturally as an accessory mineral in rocks and minerals including apatite and phosphates.

Magnesium sulfate is a salt which consists of magnesium ion and sulfur. It has a white powdery appearance. The chemical formula for magnesium sulfate is MgSO4X2+6H2O.
