Smoke tube boilers are marine steam boiler used for producing high temperature steam by burning solid fuels such as wood, coal or oil. The boiler is made up of vertical smoke tubes which are enclosed in a horizontal chamber. As the fuel burns, the heat energy produced is transferred to the water through a series of tubes located inside the boiler. This process produces super-heated water which drives turbines and power plant engines to produce electricity.
