A mechanical steam trap is a device used to discharge condensate (water) from a steam system. The importance of mechanical steam traps is that they help to maintain the pressure in the system by eliminating condensate, which would otherwise create an unnecessary load on the boiler.

The float type mechanical steam trap is a safety device used to prevent the overheating of condensate and feed water in a steam generator. Inverted Bucket type:


Inverted bucket type mechanical steam trap is a device used to collect condensate from a vaporized liquid. It has the ability to separate the liquid and gas phases, thus making it useful for recycling of various liquids such as bio-alcohols, glycerol, water etc. The trap consists of two metal collecting vessels connected by an airtight seal at their lower ends.
