Isobutylene Oxidation is a chemical reaction between isobutylene and oxygen. The Isobutylene Oxidation method (IBM) has been developed by the researchers at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL, U.S., as an alternative to hazardous practices involved in methylation or oxidation-era hydrogenation for manufacturing ?-methacrylic acid (PMA).
