This reaction takes place through polymerization agents or catalysts. The most common catalysts used are metal oxides such as magnesium oxide and zinc oxide, and titanium dioxide are also known as macromonomers.


Modification:


Modification is a process in which the molecular structure of wax is changed by adding another compound or element to it. The modification can be done by using different types of agents like metal, oil, and water. Modification leads to unique properties that are not available in the original wax.


The most common type of modification used for producing MWPE (Micronized Polyethylene Wax) includes hydrolysis and esterification processes.
