Cellulose nitrate (collodion) is a synthetic organic compound, which is also known as nitrocellulose. It has a triple bond between the carbon and the nitrogen atom in its structure. Cellulose nitrate (NC) or collodion can be produced by two methods; one through direct oxidation of cellulosic material and other through aniline hydro-lysis followed by oxidation of the formed hemiacetal.
