Nanolithography is the process of fabricating structures on a nanometer scale, often using light to create patterns. The importance of Nanolithography Equipment is that it can be used to create very small structures with great precision.


ArF Dry:


ArF dry is short for Arsenic-Free Fluorine. It’s a type of ultraviolet (UV) laser used in the semiconductor industry to lithographically pattern parts and devices on wafers. UV lasers are different from ionizing radiation as they do not have enough energy to break chemical bonds within materials, unlike X-rays or electrons which can be used for similar purposes.


ArF Immersion:


ArF immersion is a type of high-intensity light source used in the fabrication of semiconductor devices. It is also used as an exposure tool for nanolithography equipment. The ArF laser generates ultraviolet (UV) light having wavelengths between 200nm to 280nm and has higher energy than typical X-ray lasers.


Application Insights:


The application segment is segregated into three parts including foundry, memory and IDM. Nanolithography finds wide applications in the foundry industry for pattern transfer from 3D to 2D space as well as from 3D to 2D space. It is also used for creating patterns on various substrates such as silicon wafer, metal foils and glass plates using different types of radiation such as X-ray, EUV and ArF. The technology has enabled high-resolution nanoscale drawing capabilities that were not possible with conventional lithographic techniques.


IDM or integrated device manufacturing is a new emerging application area of nanolithography that involves building electronic devices with multiple layers using both organic & inorganic materials by assembling them together at the molecular level.
