Product Definition:
A natural gas compressor is a device used to increase the pressure of natural gas. This is important because it allows the gas to be transported through pipelines at a higher pressure, which means it can travel farther and be delivered to more customers.
Centrifugal Type:
Centrifugal type compressor is used to increase the pressure of gas by reducing its volume. It works on the principle of centrifugal force which increases as the speed of rotating object increases. The gas thus compressed is directed into outlet at high velocity and low pressure, this process is called as centrifugation. Centrifugal compressor has higher power than axial type but lower power than radial type, it can be used for both stationary and portable applications due to its light weight characteristics.
Reciprocating Type:
Reciprocating type is also known as rotary compressor. It's a mechanical device used for increasing the pressure of gas by reducing its volume. In this process, air is forced into a closed chamber where it is changed from one state to another (from low pressure to high). This change in state can be done because of two reasons: because of decrease in barometric pressure or due to compression themselves.
Application Insights:
The processing/chemical plants segment accounted for the largest revenue share in 2016 and is projected to continue its dominance over the forecast period. The application of compressors at these plants aids in cost-saving as well as energy-efficient operations.
