Market Overview:
The global near-beer market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.5% during the forecast period from 2018 to 2030. The growth in the market can be attributed to factors such as rising awareness about the health benefits of consuming low-alcohol beverages, increasing demand for non-alcoholic beer among women, and growing popularity of craft beers. Product Definition:
A beverage that is nearly or practically beer in taste, color, and alcoholic content. Near-beer was once popular among people who wanted the taste of beer without the intoxicating effects.
Limit Fermentation:
The process of limit fermentation is used to produce beer at a controlled rate. It helps in maintaining the quality and taste of beer by controlling the amount of yeast, bacteria, and other microorganisms that are present in it. The product made using this process has less quantity of alcohol content (2-4%) than conventional beers which have been prepared from regular yeast (5%).
This method was firstly applied for making wine into which some small percentage(0.1%-0.
Dealcoholization Method:
The dealcoholization method is used to convert the original beer into a different product that has an alcohol content similar to the original one. The process takes place in two stages, namely infusion and finishing. In the first stage, known as infusion or primary fermentation, yeast is added along with sugar and other ingredients. The mixture is then left for natural fermentation at a temperature of 18-22 degrees Celsius for about 3-4 days until it gets converted into ethanol and carbon dioxide.
Application Insights:
The man application segment led the global near-beer market in 2017 and is projected to expand at a revenue-based CAGR of XX% over the forecast period. The consumption of near beer has been significantly increasing among male adults as an alternative to conventional alcoholic beverages such as whiskey, vodka, rum, etc. This trend is attributed to rising disposable income levels and changing lifestyle preferences among male adults in developing countries including China, India and Brazil.
The woman application segment held a significant share of more than 30% in 2017 owing to growing awareness about health benefits associated with drinking moderate amount of water along with alcohol such as reducing calories consumed through food intake by burning extra calories during digestion process.
Regional Analysis:
Europe dominated the global near-beer market in terms of revenue share in 2017. The region is expected to continue its dominance over the forecast period owing to high demand for low alcohol content beverages among consumers, especially millennials. Europe has been witnessing growing popularity of these products as a healthier substitute for conventional beer and ciders.
Asia Pacific is anticipated to be the fastest-growing regional market from 2018 to 2030 due to rising health concerns among consumers regarding effects of alcohol on human body, increasing disposable income levels and changing lifestyles, and growing interest in different types of alcoholic beverages amongst drinkers. These factors are likely drive demand for near-beers across this region over the forecast period.
