Product Definition:


Nematicides are chemicals used to kill nematodes. Nematicides are important because they help protect crops from being damaged by nematodes.


Fumigant:


A fumigant is an inert gas or a mixture of such gases used to eliminate insects from crops. The most common types of fumigants are carbon dioxide, nitrogen and hydrogen sulfide. Fumigation can be done with the help of equipment like fumigating chamber, which contains the gas and helps in its distribution over the crop field.


Carbamate:


Carbamate is a chemical compound of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. It is mainly used as an insecticide but also has applications in some plant protection products. The most common form found in nature is a salt known as diammonium carbamate or disodium carbamate. Carbamates are highly toxic to humans and the environment when disposed of carelessly which makes them very undesirable for use around living organisms or food crops (aside from their intended use).


Application Insights:


The global nematicides market has been segmented on the basis of application into agricultural and industrial applications. The agricultural application was estimated to be the largest, accounting for over 75% of the overall revenue share in 2017. This is attributed to increasing use of pesticides in farming activities across all major regions globally. Moreover, government subsidies that are provided for crop protection further drive demand for these products among farmers globally.

North America dominated the global nematicides market in 2017.
