Direct read electronic dosimeters are used to measure the dose received by a person in order to determine if he or she has been exposed to an ionizing radiation. It is also used as a tool for determining the level of radiation contamination in food and water. The product consists of an electronic device that measures the amount of time taken before it receives a signal from a radioactive source placed inside it, which indicates when the sample has been absorbed by the body tissue.
