Solid is a colorless and odorless powder that is insoluble in water and has a slightly bitter taste. Solid can be produced by the reaction of ethylene oxide with propylene or by hydrolysis of an amine group from aqueous ammonia solution. It finds application as an anti-caking agent, defoaming agent, wetting agent, dispersant in emulsion polymerization and latex processing among others.
