A thermocouple is a device consisting of two dissimilar metal wires joined at one end. When the junction between the two metals is heated or cooled, an electric current flows through the wire. R type is a thermocouple used for temperature measurement in the range of -55 to +300oC. It consists of two wires, one is connected to the heat source and other is attached to the measuring device or sensor. The most commonly used sensors are RTD (Remote Type Detection) and TMP (Temperature Measurement Platform).


S Type:


S type is a thermocouple used for measuring temperature in the range of -55 to +300°C with an accuracy of 1% or better. It consists of two wires, one is connected to the heat source and other is attached to the sample under test. The resistance between these two wires provides an indication about the temperature.
