BET 160-210 is a pyrogenic silica that has been developed as an alternative to asbestos for use in friction material. It is also used as a reinforcing agent in lightweight concrete and mixes with fly ash to produce high strength concrete (HSC). The product was first patented by the US Chemical Agency and later on acquired by the Dow Chemical Company.
