Straight track tampers are used for making railway tracks straight. It is also known as rail track plow or rail-track grinder. The machine consists of two parallel steel rails, mounted on a frame with adjustable height and angle of attack. A powered screw feeds the material between the rails at a constant speed and pressure, grinding down the material to be tamped until it is reduced to fine dust which can be easily washed away after use.


Points and Crossing Tamping Machines:


The points and crossing tampers are used to apply the brakes on a railway track. It is an essential component of rail infrastructure as it ensures safety at stations, level crossings and other places along the tracks. The machine consists of lever, brake shoe, pressure plate and piston which is operated by a foot treadle or electric motor.
