Metal detectors are used to detect the presence of metallic objects such as weapons, knives or explosives. They work on the principle of induction and detection of magnetic fields. A metal detector is an electronic device which helps in detecting the presence of metals by measuring and changing electrical characteristics such as voltage, current and resistance.


Hand-Held Metal Detector:


Hand-held metal detectors are used for detecting metallic objects such as knives, guns, and other instruments. They work on the principle of electromagnetic induction. The detector unit consists of a coil which is connected to an electrical circuit by means of a lead wire. When a conductor such as steel or iron is brought near the coil, the current flow increases and it produces an electromagnetic field around it.
