Soft seal valve is a kind of mechanical valve which uses soft seals to operate. Soft seal valves are different from hard seal valves in that they use rubber or silicone as opposed to metal for sealing the stem and seat. The main difference between the two being, hardness of material makes a difference in terms of lifespan and pressure handling capacity whereas, softness does not have any adverse effect on either factor.
Hard Seal Valve:
Hard seal valve is a one-piece, non-closing ball valve. It has no stem and is installed in the open position. The only way to close it is to physically push it into place using your hand or another object as a handle. This type of valve does not have an internal diaphragm and instead relies on external pressure to operate.
