The consumption of snuff started as an exclusive male activity but has now become a common practice among women too.


Dipping tobacco:


Dipping tobacco is also known as smokeless tobacco or dry-chewing tobacco. It is a processed leaf derived from the leaves of the plant chewing Tobacco and was initially developed in American soil for making Cigarettes filter papers. The product has been used by millions of people across the globe as it does not contain any level of nicotine, which makes it an ideal product to consume while avoiding smoking cigarettes.


Application Insights:


Application I was the largest segment in 2017 and accounted for more than 54.0% share of the global revenue. This is attributed to high usage rates among men, especially in countries such as India, China, Bangladesh and Pakistan where snuff is traditionally used by men. Application II smokeless tobacco products are gaining popularity among women due to increasing availability of these products in retail stores and growing awareness about health benefits associated with them.


The application III segment Smokeless tobacco products include chewing tobacco, dissolving gummi-tobacco etc., which are gaining popularity among children due to their low price coupled with fun appearance & flavor varieties.
