Surgical stapling devices are medical instruments used to join tissue, typically during surgery. Staples are inserted through a small incision in the skin and then fired (released) from the stapler, compressing the staples against the sides of the wound and holding them in place.

Straight surgical stapling devices are used for closing wounds during surgeries.
