These sutures are intended for temporary internal body support or external body support depending upon the procedure being performed.
Mid-term Absorbable:
Mid-term absorbable suture threads are a new type of medical device used in surgical procedures. These threads are made from a special material that dissolves after a set period of time, usually within 30 to 45 days but can vary between 15 and 90 days. The main purpose of these threads is to reduce the risk of infection at the surgery site which is achieved by reducing the chances for wound reopening after closure with conventional sutures.
