Liquid State Fermentation:
Liquid state fermentation (LSF) is a process in which the microorganisms such as bacteria, yeasts, and fungi are cultured in the liquid state. The culture medium used for LSF comprises of sugar substrates such as sorbitol or glucose.
The advantages of LSF include low energy requirement for growth, production yield and acid formation along with high temperature stability during fermentation.
