Product Definition:
Tabular alumina is a very pure and flat form of alumina. It is made by slowly heating aluminum hydroxide in a kiln, until it turns into alumina. This process creates large, thin sheets of alumina that are perfect for use in high-tech applications.
Coarse Tabular Alumina:
Coarse Tabular Alumina, sometimes called CTA, is a type of alumina with an average particle size of 0.4-0.8 mm and pore volume ranging from 1.2 x 10E13 cm3/g to 2 x 10E14 cm3/g.
Fine Tabular Alumina:
Fine-tabular alumina is a hydrated aluminum oxide with the formula Al2O3. Fine-tabular alumina has a structure like table salt (sodium chloride) where both chlorine and aluminum are shared equally between two layers. It is also referred to as KAl2O3 because of it’s chemical properties which include potassium affinities, high thermal stability, and easy separation on drying.
Application Insights:

Refractories are used in manufacturing industries including steel, cement, mining and construction where high resistance is required from ceramic ware or metal products.
