Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to replace a diseased or malfunctioning aortic valve. The transapical approach is a surgical technique used to implant aortic valve in the position between the two heart valves. This minimizes damage to blood vessels and reduces risk of infection.
