A selective herbicide that is effective against annual grasses.


Missible Oil (EC):


Trifluralin is a chemical, which is produced as an intermediate during the production of pesticides and agrochemicals. It’s major application includes the protection of plants against fungal infection. The product also finds its usage in controlling insects that are responsible for crop damage and decreasing plant mortality. Trifluralin has low toxicity to human beings, animals, and micro-organisms; this property makes it safe for use around people & pets even after prolonged exposure.


Granula (GR):


Granula is a crystalline powder, which is soluble in water and ethanol. It has a slight odor similar to that of sugar. Granula contains the same amount of active ingredient as found in one-third cup of concentrated trifluralin solution. The granules are white or colorless and are very small compared to table salt grains.


Application Insights:


The grass and weed application segment accounted for the largest revenue share of over 40% in 2017. This is attributed to the extensive use of herbicides that are fluralin-based, such as 2,4-D and metsulfuron methyl, among others. The dicotyledonous application segment is expected to witness the fastest growth rate during the forecast period owing to its extensive use in forestry applications across various regions.


In agriculture applications including soybean and cotton farming, it is used as a foliar spray on leaves followed by drying them out for about two days before sowing seeds or transplanting young plants. It can also be applied directly into furrow at a rate of 1 g/L when seeding vegetables like peas or corn among other crops like wheat where direct seed placement is not possible due to shallow soil depths or compacted soil conditions.
