Underwater hybrid cables are used for power transmission underwater. They are made up of two conductors; an insulated conductor wire that is floating on the water surface and a second, uninsulated conductor wire that is embedded in the soil or rock below the water's surface. The ends of these wires are connected to two devices or systems; one end is connected to an electrical load and the other end connects into a power source.
DC Power Cable:
DC power cable is used in underwater hybrid cables. It helps in transferring electricity from one place to another with the help of two conductors that are connected by an insulated bushing. One end of the cable is connected to a source of power and other end is attached to the device or equipment which requires power supply. DC (Direct Current) Power Cable has two copper wires, all others are made from plastic material and covered with PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride).
