Orthophthalic is a polymer with twophthalate groups. It has high molecular weight and exhibits good processability in the manufacturing of composites. Isophthalic:
Isophthalic (IP) is a chemical compound of petroleum origin. It is an organic liquid that has the same molecular formula as that of butane (C4H10), i.e., C5H11, and its structure is similar to terephthalic acid (TPA). Isophthalic acid can be used in place of terephthalic acid in polyester resin manufacturing processes owing to its lower cost and higher solubility in water.
