Reversible Thermochromic Materials:
Reversible thermochromism is a property by which the material undergoes reversible change in its physical and chemical properties due to a change in temperature. The most common example of this phenomenon is seen in crystals that are formed from two different kinds of minerals, namely ferroelectric and piezoelectric materials. These crystals have different structures at room temperature but can be made to switch between them by changing the temperature.
Irreversible Thermochromic Materials:
Irreversible thermochromic materials are those materials whose physical or chemical properties change when temperature is applied to it. These irreversible thermochromic materials can be used in various applications such as consumer goods, industrial products, and cosmetics among others. The most common application of this product is through the use of liquid crystals that can be found in devices such as smartphones or tablets among others.
