Monoethylene glycol can also be blended into water or other liquids to produce safe drinking water, ice cream flavors, etc.


Triethylene Glycol (TEG):


Triethylene glycol (TEG) is a colorless, water-soluble, viscous liquid. Triethylene has three hydroxyl groups and one of them is double bonded which makes it very reactive to oxygen. TEG can be produced by two methods; the direct oxidative process and the indirect oxidative process. Direct oxidative process was traditionally used for production but it requires more time than the indirect method so many manufacturers use the latter as a substitute for direct method.
