Micronutrients are naturally occurring elements required in small quantities for plant growth and development. Micronutrients deficiency results in yellowing of leaves, reduced stem elongation, and delayed fruit setting. The major functions of micronutrients include increasing the rate of respiration by plants, supporting cell division & differentiation, stimulating stomata opening to allow better absorption of carbon dioxide and water along with providing resistance against pathogen attacks.
Secondary Nutrients:
Secondary nutrients are naturally occurring elements required to promote plant growth. These nutrients play an important role in the overall development of a plant. There are three types of secondary nutrients, macronutrients, micronutrients and organic acids. Micronutrients include iron, sulfur and nitrogen while macronutrients include potassium, phosphorous and calcium.
