CO2 lasers are used to mark the fibers and resin in GF and GFRP composites. The laser beam is projected on the fiber or resin surface by using a galvanometer mirror. The light then travels through the fiber, reflects off of an internal mirror, and returns to the photodiode where it is amplified several thousand times before it is sent out as a signal for printing.
