Carbonyl Iron:
Carbonyl iron is a new term in the iron powder industry. It was introduced by me for the first time in my book “Advanced Materials” published by Mc Graw Hill Book Company, Inc., U.S., back in 2001.
Hydrogen Reduced Iron:
Hydrogen reduced iron (HRFe) is an alloy of iron and hydrogen. It has a composition similar to that of steel, i.e., Fe+2 and Hr can be replaced by any other element or compound, including carbon, nitrogen or sulfur. HRFe alloys have been developed for applications where high-temperature resistance is required but the cost of materials used in the manufacturing process cannot be justified due to low-temperature performance characteristics.
Application Insights:
The radio communications application segment accounted for the largest revenue share in 2017 and is projected to continue its dominance over the forecast period. Radio communication products such as transmitters and receivers use iron powder cores that are manufactured using ferrite, a form of iron oxide, as a magnetic material. The product helps reduce power consumption while improving signal reception in wireless devices including smartphones and tablets.
Video communication applications are expected to witness significant growth over the forecast period owing to increasing demand for high-definition video services such as 4K Ultra HDTVs from major telecom operators across various regions including North America, Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America.
