It is produced by the chemical reaction of polyurethane with an essential oil. The most commonly used raw materials for manufacturing synthetic (faux) leather include polyurethane and artificial (scented) oils such as paraffin, petroleum jelly, tallow, lanolin, mineral oil and silicone.
