A split transformer is a transformer comprising two or more isolated windings, each on its own bobbin, frame, or core. The windings are electrically insulated from each other and may be connected in series, parallel, or series-parallel. A split-phase transformer has one winding for the line (120 V) and another for the neutral (0 V). A three-phase transformer has three isolated windings.


High Frequency:


High frequency is defined as an electric current that flows on the order of 1 amp or less. The high frequency current does not possess the ability to cause heating effect like low and medium frequencies. High-frequency currents are used in electronic devices for various functions, one of which is to operate relays and other switching devices.
