A split-phase transformer has one winding for the line (120 V) and another for the neutral (0 V). A three-phase transformer has three isolated windings.
High Frequency:
High frequency is defined as an electric current that flows on the order of 1 amp or less. The high frequency current does not possess the ability to cause heating effect like low and medium frequencies. High-frequency currents are used in electronic devices for various functions, one of which is to operate relays and other switching devices.
