Product Definition:


Wind power blades are the parts of a wind turbine that capture the wind's energy. Wind power blades are typically made from fiberglass, carbon fiber, or other lightweight materials. They are important because they extract energy from the wind to turn the turbines and generate electricity.


Below 2MW:


Below 2MW size wind turbine is the one which can produce power up to 2 MW power. It has a main shaft with gearbox at the bottom end and generator at the top end. The main shaft carries out all rotational speed changes required to generate electricity. At present, there are not many below 2MW turbines operating in commercial markets as they were first installed more than ten years ago and have reached their End of Life (EOL).


2MW-4MW:


The 2MW-4MW is a type of wind turbine power blade which has a diameter between 200 to 400 feet and length of 60 to 90 feet. The blades are mounted on the main shaft which is driven by the gearbox. It rotates due to the wind's force, creating electricity using horizontal axis turbines. These products have become popular among consumers as they provide better performance in comparison with 1MW-3MW products and also help in reducing maintenance costs owing to their high quality.

Onshore wind power accounted for the largest share of the global wind power blades market in 2017, owing to its lower installation cost and higher energy yield as compared to offshore. The segment is expected to continue leading over the forecast period owing to various factors such as government support & subsidies, low HAWP costs and improved grid connectivity.
