Unipolar is a type of electric motor which has only one wire for the rotation of the rotor. It is also known as single-phase motor since it has only one phase connected to power source. The unipolar wind turbine alternator uses this simple principle to generate electricity and works on the basis of “unipoles” or “ monopoles”, depending upon how you wish to define them.


Multipolar:


Multipolar is a type of electric motor that uses more than one magnet to generate electricity. The multiphase technology has been used in the manufacturing of motors for many years and has recently gained popularity in the wind turbine alternator market. A bipolar motor only uses one magnet to produce electricity, whereas a multiphase motor uses several magnets (more than two) to create an electromagnetic field.
