YSZ is a material used in oxygen-ion and fuel-cell based generators. It has a high thermal stability, allowing it to withstand the high temperatures required for these applications. Industrial-grade yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) is a type of ceramic material that has widespread applications in the chemical, electrical and electronics, medical equipment and tools industry. It’s also used as an abrasive for producing cutting tools or as a filler in ceramics. YSZ is commercially available in two grades: high purity (HP) grade and standard purity (SP).
